Thai experiences accessing and sharing agricultural information

A recent report by FAO Bangkok recounts the experiences of the Thai National AGRIS Centre as it sought to enhance access to local and international agricultural information in the past 25 years. The Thai Centre was an early adopter of the 'new vision for AGRIS' that emerged around 2000 and this report shows what they have accomplished and how.

As well as giving some historic perspectives, the report introduces work by Kasetsart University on language and thesaurus/ontology issues where much progress has been made; it also sets out some plans by which the Centre aims to transform itself from an 'information and resources centre' to an 'agricultural knowledge centre.'
