Time to reform agricultural extension

Ainsworth Grant in the Antigua Sun argues that if scientific research is to achieve a real impact on farm productivity and livelihoods of farmers, new methodologies for dissemination of information have to be developed or adapted.

He suggests that the main direction of reform in agricultural extension is towards a learning paradigm that incorporates methodologies and approaches that increase the interactive participation of all stakeholders.

This article is part of a series by Ainsworth Grant entitled 'Hands to the Plough' and published on the Antigua Sun newspaper.
