CTA Observatory discusses ICTs and natural resource management
In late October 2005, experts in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) meet at CTA to examine use of ICTs in natural resource management - particularly promising activities concerning land tenure and access issues.
In this 8th ICT Observatory meeting (others have looked at ICTs and youth, extension, and gender), participants exchange views on ICT use in the context of customary land tenure and cadastre development; ICT use in the context of pastoralist and rangeland issues; ICT use in the context of community-managed forest issues; and participatory GIS applications.
Associated with this meeting, recent issues of the CTA newsletter ICT Update look at access to natural resources and participatory GIS.
