Knowledge management at SEARCA

Knowledge is the primary resource and commodity of the Southeast Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) in the Philippines. Its knowledge management activities focus on exploring the applications of information and communication technologies (ICTs) on natural resource management and rural growth promotion; and exploring the regional R&D applications of ICTs.

As well as making knowledge and information readily available and accessible to advance agriculture and rural development in the region (through publishing, an e-library, eyc), SEARCA establishes information networks, develops and disseminates databases, and conducts training courses, seminars, and conferences. An example of these information networking activities is the SEARCA Biotechnology Information Center that exchanges, processes, packages, and distributes agricultural biotechnology information in the region.
