Livelihoods Connect: Creating sustainable livelihoods to eliminate poverty
Livelihoods Connect facilitates knowledge sharing and networking to enable the practical implementation of sustainable livelihoods approaches (SLA) for poverty reduction. It hosts a range of key documents, guidance and lesson learning materials, organisational links, tools, events and a discussion board relating to sustainable livelihoods. Livelihoods Connect encourages practitioners, policy-makers and researchers to exchange comparative international ideas and experience of implementing sustainable livelihoods approaches.
The web site features: 'Key Documents' database; collection of online tools and online learning materials; 'Hot Topic Pages' on issues like agriculture; links to web pages and key publications of a wide range organisations; frequently updated listings of happenings (jobs, events, etc) in the sustainable livelihoods community.
Beyond the web site resources, it's possible to subscribe to a monthly 'Livelihoods Email Update' and join the 'Livelihoods Network' where people debate and collaborate - the network facilitates an e-discussion forum, runs an annual conference, nurtures thematic groups, and facilitates networking and online sharing.
