New website on agricultural information management standards
Thesauri, metadata, ontologies, and standards are key tools we can use to facilitate access to collections of agricultural information scattered across institutions and countries. A new website hosted by FAO gives information about an international agricultural information management standards initiative.
The initiative aims to facilitate collaboration, partnership and networking among partners by promoting information exchange and knowledge sharing; and to harmonize decentralized efforts currently taking place in the development of methodologies, standards and applications for management of agricultural information systems.
The website also lists discussion groups that can be joined and provides a news and events update (and RSS feeds). It is also available in French and Spanish.
