ODI toolkit for successful communication

Increasingly, information specialists and managers need to pay attention to ways in which information and knowledge are communicated. The Overseas Development Institute recently published a communication toolkit to help researchers and practitioners communicate more effectively with policymakers. It helps researchers - and information managers - to inform or influence policy and to make their own knowledge accessible and understandable to a wider audience.

Some of the tools covered include: Stakeholder Analysis, Social Network Analysis, Writing a Communications Strategy, Writing Policy Papers, Building a Community of Practice, Lobbying, Websites, Blogging, Media Engagement, Radio, and Outcome Mapping.

The toolkit - entitled Successful Communication: A Toolkit for Researchers and Civil Society Organisations can be downloaded from the ODI web site.
