E-agriculture at the Information Society summit

From 14-19 November 2005, specialists in agricultural information and rural communication will be among the many participants attending the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis.

One reason they are there is that the December 2003 plan of action proposed an 'e-agriculture' action line to "ensure the systematic dissemination of information using ICTs on agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, forestry and food, in order to provide ready access to comprehensive, up-to-date and detailed knowledge and information, particularly in rural areas". This is a chance to find out what has been done or is being planned in this area.

Over the course of the week, we will publish news and updates from some of the agricultural information and communication activities, projects, initiatives and organisations that will be showcasing themselves in Tunis.
