E-learning initiative on agricultural information moves to the Internet

FAO and the Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK) Steering Group have launched a new IMARK website (www.imarkgroup.org).

The new site offers online access to self-paced e-learning modules which have previously been available only on CD ROM. Learners can register and take the IMARK module "Management of Electronic Documents" in English or in French and the module "Digitization and Digital Libraries" in English.

IMARK modules are delivered in an interactive self-paced learning environment, using dynamic screens and illustrated step-by-step instructions and exercises. The modules provide learners with immediate access to customized help, search and glossary facilities, as well as cases that demonstrate real life applications of the concepts and procedures being taught.

IMARK has over 30 partners and collaborating institutions and is coordinated through a Steering Group consisting of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), FAO, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement (Cirad), the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
