Conference: Participatory Web for Development
CTA, FAO and other development organizations are joining forces to hold an international conference on the use of so-called 'web 2.0' applications to facilitate networking, collaborating and exchanging knowledge in agriculture, rural development and natural resource management.
The conference will be held at FAO in Rome from 25 to 27 September 2007, with pre-conference seminars on 24 September.
The conference will serve as a meeting point for the whole community interested in ‘web 2.0’ approaches in development. The organizers conceived and designed the event as a breeding ground for new partnerships and collaborations. The presentations and case studies presented during the conference will focus on the following areas:

- Appropriate technologies for on-line publishing like web publishing, blogging, wikies, etc.
- Online Information retrieval and access like search engines, alert services (e.g. RSS, selective dissemination of information and open access journals and more
