BID y Microsoft fomentan desarrollo tecnológico y la reducción de la brecha digital rural

Ambas instituciones acordaron extender su inversión en proyectos que promueven el progreso social y económico sostenible en países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, indicó el BID en su red informativa.

Entre sus actividades, ambas planean fomentar el desarrollo de la investigación tecnológica y la innovación en los países de la región, además de promover proyectos que mejoren el uso de la tecnología en la educación para reducir la brecha digital, en particular entre los jóvenes rurales de bajos ingresos.

"La innovación y la tecnología son algunos de los elementos más importantes para promover el desarrollo económico y social", dijo Luis Alberto Moreno, presidente del BID, quien expresó el interés de que muchas personas del sector privado se unan a nosotros para trabajar en proyectos comunitarios y de sustentabilidad".
