Putting farmers first
Twenty years ago, the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) hosted a workshop on ‘Farmers and Agricultural Research: Complementary Methods', later more generally known as the ‘Farmer First' workshop. It was a key moment in the development of approaches to farmer participation in agricultural research and extension.
In December 2007, many of the original participants came together at IDS in a workshop to revisit experiences in this area and consider priorities for the future.
The website has lots of interesting papers and links to a blog as well as a series of video interviews with participants.
